Famed Chicano performance troupe Culture Clash, featuring Richard Montoya, Ric Salinas and Herbert Siguenza, proudly returns to San Diego for one special performance celebrating the group’s 40th Anniversary.

The event marks Culture Clash’s first time performing at the historic Balboa Theatre. During the 1990’s and early 2000’s, Culture Clash performed frequently at the San Diego Repertory Theater and La Jolla Playhouse. Culture Clash became a favorite for many San Diego theatre and comedy fans and developed a large diverse loyal fan base. The trio and its unique brand of satire have not appeared in San Diego since 2010. “We are excited to connect with our San Diegan fans once again. San Diego has always been a special place in our hearts,” said co-founder Herbert Siguenza.

“Culture Clash’s 40th Anniversary Desmadre” is an all-new show in honor of 40 years of comedy that will serve up an explosive cocktail of humor and satirical outrage. They will be joined by longtime friend collaborator Kirk Ward and hilarious standup comedian Mala Muñoz. Pianist Michael Roth will accompany Culture Clash throughout the evening.

“Their comedy can be rude, crude, witty, refined, pointed and highbrow, often within the same  sketch. Their shows are driven with broad strokes of sweeping yet  topical satire penetrating their targets every moment they take the stage” writes The San Jose Mercury News.

The eclectic group of California natives has profoundly explored the evolution of LatinX culture on stages and screens for four decades and is the most-produced Latino theater troupe in the United States.
