San Diego Theatres, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) arts organization that manages, operates, and markets the iconic San Diego Civic Theatre, which opened in 1965, and the historic, restored Balboa Theatre, which opened in 1924. Our mission is to deliver exceptional performing arts and educational experiences, foster collaboration and partnerships, and create accessible places for all people to enjoy the arts. However, we cannot achieve this without the support of individuals like you who are invested in the arts and recognize the value of the performing arts to San Diego’s cultural landscape. Through various activities, we strive to enrich our programming by raising funds to provide affordable and accessible performance opportunities to nonprofit arts organizations that may not otherwise be able to stage a production at the Balboa Theatre. Additionally, underwriting support and sponsorships help us bring a diverse range of performances to the stage, enriching our community through artistic expression. Your gift to San Diego Theatres will be used to increase the diversity and accessibility of arts organizations performing at these two public theatres.
Balboa Theatre Grant Fund
The Balboa Theatre Grant Fund was established to support performance opportunities for local, non-profit organizations to use the Balboa Theatre. The intention is to make the production of an event at the Balboa Theatre affordable and accessible for San Diego arts organizations.
