Special Pre-Performance Lecture
beginning 60 minutes prior to curtain
This November at the Balboa Theatre in downtown San Diego, California Ballet presents Noche Latina, an evening of fire, passion, and romance with a latin flare!
The evening will feature Bizet’s Carmen and the world premiere of Jared Nelson’s interpretation of the fiery Bolero. Also on the program is the West Coast premiere of Septime Webre’s Juanita y Alicia, a dance narrative based on the choreographer’s real-life family in Cuba.
The program, Noche Latina, consists of 3 ballets; Bolero, Carmen, and Juanita y Alicia.
MUSIC: A live Cuban band will play for the ballet Juanita y Alicia.
Bolero and Carmen will be danced to recorded music.
Late Seating Policy:
In consideration of all audience members and the performers, once the curtain goes up, latecomers will be seated at intermission or at a pre-determined break in the performance, if available, in rear orchestra or balcony seats. Latecomers will be permitted to assume their ticketed seat during intermission.
Additionally, out of respect and fairness to performers and fellow theatergoers patrons who leave the theater before or during a performance will not be reseated until intermission, and will be asked to follow the above outlined late seating policies.
