San Diego Theatres employs over 200 San Diegans to assist in the management, marketing, operations and maintenance of the San Diego Civic Theatre in the heart of downtown and the historic Balboa Theatre in the Gaslamp Quarter.

PART TIME Positions
Ticket Seller – Part-time
Provides information, patron service & facilitates ticket purchases at the San Diego Theatres Ticket Office windows & internal charge lines, for all ticketed Civic Theatre & Balboa Theatre ticketed events, both in advance and on the day of the event. Position requires evening, week-end and holiday hours as well as weekday daytime shifts—applicants must have flexibility in availability and submit complete availability schedule (included in application packet). No phone calls or letters via US Mail will be accepted.
Training Coordinator – Part-Time
($22.00-$25.00 per hour as of 07/31/18) Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources the Training Coordinator is responsible for analyzing training needs, developing curriculum, delivering courses and maintaining individual and departmental training records. No phone calls or letters via US Mail will be accepted.
We continuously accept applications for the following positions, and interview as needed:
Housekeepers ($14.00 per hour as of 02/01/18) – Maintain the cleanliness and preparedness of the venues. Ensure guests and clients enjoy clean, safe, well-stocked and sanitary facilities.
Public Safety Representatives ($15.41 per hour as of 07/01/18) – Responsible for greeting guests, assisting with directions, patrolling the facilities and grounds, providing basic first aid and prevention/response to disturbances. Provide protection, security and safety for San Diego Theatres’ clients, guests, property and facilities.
Ushers ($12.50 per hour as of 02/01/18) – Welcome, greet, direct and seat guests. Verify tickets and seat locations, distribute programs, and generally assist guests in their theatre-going experience.
Concessions Staff ($11.50/hr as of 10/01/17) – Provides food and beverage services and contributes to a positive theatre-going experience for guests. Sells concessions food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, in accordance with the laws of California, SDT standards, and safety, health and sanitation policies.
