California Ballet Company’s glittering  production of The Nutcracker at the Civic Theatre is the most highly attended Nutcracker in San Diego County.

Choreographed by Maxine Mahon with music director John Stubbs conducting The Classics Philharmonic Orchestra Dec 13 & 14 and the San Diego Symphony December 17-21, The Nutcracker  is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends.

Based on E.T.A.Hoffman’s tale of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, California Ballet Company’s sparkling production portrays the main character of Clara as an older child beginning to dream of love.  After a family Christmas party where she receives the gift of a Nutcracker, she embarks on a dream adventure that begins with an epic battle of mice and toys and ends with a journey to the kingdom of sweets.

Patrons can meet the cast at our Sugar Plum Parties immediately following the 1:00p, 2:30p and 5:30p performances.

Pre-Performance Lectures:  Begin one (1) hour prior to the Saturday & Sunday matinee performances plus the Thursday Dec. 18th evening performance.  Open only to ticket holders for those performances.

Children must be 4 years of age or older to attend.  Must have own ticket in same seating section as parent / adult.
