The San Diego Civic Theatre is the performing home of the San Diego Opera, Broadway/San Diego, and California Ballet. Additionally, it is the venue for various annual community activities such as San Diego Hospice’s Light Up a Life, and for concerts, comedians and other performances.
The Balboa Theatre and the Civic Theatre may be available for rental for cultural, entertainment, educational, civic, corporate and other special events and activities. While you may first check our website’s event calendar to determine scheduled public performances, the lack of an event listing does not necessarily mean that a particular date is open and available for rental. Some of our events are private functions that are not publicized. Additionally other dates may be unavailable due to load-ins, rehearsals, technical requirements, maintenance or other commitments.
Please contact us to discuss your potential event and desired dates. With that information, we will determine availability and feasibility for your contemplated use. Call us at (619) 615–4000 or email us at info@sandiegotheatres.org
To confirm a potential booking, a license agreement must be fully executed, license fees and expense deposits received, and required insurance coverage in place and certificates received.
