Halloween (1978):

It is an American independent slasher film direction was made by John Carpenter and starring Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis. The story surrounds the murder and suicide of a six-year-old Michael Myers who returns home after fifteen years to kill again. The budget of the film was $300,000 and has grossed $47 million at the box office in the US.

Saw (2004):

The saw was an American psychological horror film. The director of the movie was James Wan. It was his feature film directorial debut.The screenplay was written by Leigh Whannell. The film stars Cary Elwes, Danny Glover, Monica Potter, Michael Emerson, Ken Leung, Tobin Bell and Leigh Whannell. This movie was a box office hit which earned $100 million in worldwide, and it was one of the most profitable horror films during that time. The saw was released in 2,315 theaters and grossed $18.2 million.
