PATRICIA WARD KELLY IN PERSON
Patricia Ward Kelly – Gene Kelly’s wife and biographer – will be on hand on Sunday, April 2 to introduce Singin’ in the Rain and An American in Paris as part of our CINEMA AT THE BALBOA Series.
Sharing her husband’s firsthand stories along with rare archival materials, she will take us behind the scenes to reveal little-known details about the making of these classic films and will answer audience questions after the screening.
Mrs. Kelly will greet people in the lobby before the shows and will stay after to say hello.

An Afternoon with Patricia Ward Kelly Saturday, April 15th at 2:00p
for a rare, personal, in-depth look at the life and Legacy of Gene Kelly
(1951) Jerry Mulligan, a struggling American painter in Paris, is “discovered” by an influential heiress with an interest in more than Jerry’s art. Jerry in turn falls for Lise, a young French girl already engaged to a cabaret singer. Jerry jokes, sings and dances with his best friend, an acerbic would-be concert pianist, while romantic complications abound.
