FULL TIME Positions
We are looking for an accounting professional who can not only ensure that our general accounting and financial operations are efficiently run, but who has the ability to suggest, develop and implement process and organizational improvement strategies across the accounting function. The ideal candidate will be able to easily flex between a hands-on approach with his/her team to support the day-to-day operations and a strategic partnership approach with the leadership team, all to ensure that our organization remains a viable entity for the benefit of the community and our 200+ dedicated employees. Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will be a key member of the management team of San Diego Theatres.
Seeking a Senior Food and Beverage Manager to plan, organize and supervise all food service and catering operations at San Diego Theatres. The Senior Food and Beverage Manager oversees concession stands and bars across two venues which generate more than $1.5 million of annual gross sales. The ideal candidate for managing this unique and diverse portfolio will need to possess the ability to pivot from high level strategic planning and analysis with division leadership to hands on event management, motivating staff to achieve a variety of service and financial goals. Reporting to the Director of Event Patron Services, this position is key for the effective and profitable operation of this department.
Under direction of Engineering Management, responsible for operation of the physical plant (Central Power), which serves the San Diego Concourse, City Administration Building, City Developmental Services Center, Print Shop/Library facility and the Civic Theatre. In addition, responsible for remote operation of the HVAC systems at the Balboa Theatre.
PART TIME Positions
We continuously accept applications for the following positions, and interview as needed:
Part Time Ticket Sellers ($13.55 per hour starting rate) – Provides information and sells tickets at the San Diego Theatres Ticket Office windows & internal charge lines, for all ticketed Civic Theatre & Balboa Theatre ticketed events, both in advance and on the day of the event. Position requires evening, week-end and holiday hours as well as daytime shifts—applicants must have flexibility in availability and submit complete availability schedule (included in application packet).
Housekeepers ($11.50 per hour as of 01/01/17) – Maintain the cleanliness and preparedness of the venues. Ensure guests and clients enjoy clean, safe, well-stocked and sanitary facilities.
Public Safety Representatives ($14.66 per hour as of 01/01/17) – Responsible for greeting guests, assisting with directions, patrolling the facilities and grounds, providing basic first aid and prevention/response to disturbances. Provide protection, security and safety for San Diego Theatres’ clients, guests, property and facilities.
Ushers ($11.50 per hour as of 01/01/17) – Welcome, greet, direct and seat guests. Verify tickets and seat locations, distribute programs, and generally assist guests in their theatre-going experience.
Concessions Staff ($11.50/hr as of 01/01/17) – Provides food and beverage services and contributes to a positive theatre-going experience for guests. Sells concessions food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, in accordance with the laws of California, SDT standards, and safety, health and sanitation policies.
