San Diego Theatres employs over 200 San Diegans to assist in the management, marketing, operations and maintenance of the San Diego Civic Theatre in the heart of downtown and the historic Balboa Theatre in the Gaslamp Quarter.

San Diego Theatres has extensive evening and weekend employment opportunities as well as some weekday, daytime shifts. For many of our employees, San Diego Theatres provides opportunities to work around other full or part-time positions or college class schedules. For others, working at the San Diego Civic Theatre and the historic Balboa Theatre provides an opportunity to be part of the vibrant San Diego performing arts scene. FULL TIME Positions

Accounting Supervisor – Full-time
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our growing company at our downtown San Diego office. This position is responsible for supervising the activities of the Accounting department, acting as team lead for the monthly accounting close as well as assisting in monitoring and enforcing internal controls. The successful candidate will ensure that the day-to-day activities are accurately and efficiently executed within established timeframes including: invoicing/billing, payroll, inventory, accounts payable, general accounting, etc.  Please send résumé and application to hr@sandiegotheatres.org.

PART TIME Positions

Food & Beverage Supervisor – Part-time
($16.02 – $23.43 DOE) Seeking a Food and Beverage Assistant Supervisor to provide crucial supervision of Concession and Bar operations. This position will focus on Event Management, and the ideal candidate must have a flexible schedule for nights and weekends. Food/Concession Preparer – Part-time
($12.50 per hour as of 10/01/2017) Assists in the preparation, presentation, and support of the concession and beverage services in accordance with the San Diego Theatres’ standards, laws of California, and safety, health, and sanitation policies. No phone calls or letters via US Mail will be accepted.

Bartender – Part-time
($11.50 per hour as of 10/01/2017) Provides food and beverage services and contributes to a positive theatre-going experience for guests.   Dispenses alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as other offerings in accordance with the laws of California, SDT standards, and safety and sanitation policies. No phone calls or letters via US Mail will be accepted.

 

We continuously accept applications for the following positions, and interview as needed:

Housekeepers ($11.50 per hour as of 01/01/17) – Maintain the cleanliness and preparedness of the venues.  Ensure guests and clients enjoy clean, safe, well-stocked and sanitary facilities.

Public Safety Representatives ($14.95 per hour as of 07/01/17) – Responsible for greeting guests, assisting with directions, patrolling the facilities and grounds, providing basic first aid and prevention/response to disturbances.  Provide protection, security and safety for San Diego Theatres’ clients, guests, property and facilities.

Ushers ($11.50 per hour as of 01/01/17) – Welcome, greet, direct and seat guests.  Verify tickets and seat locations, distribute programs, and generally assist guests in their theatre-going experience.

Concessions Staff ($11.50/hr as of 01/01/17) – Provides food and beverage services and contributes to a positive theatre-going experience for guests.  Sells concessions food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, in accordance with the laws of California, SDT standards, and safety, health and sanitation policies.
